Frequently asked questions
Is this a real Viettel eSIM?
Yes — a local Viettel eSIM for travelers in Vietnam, delivered as an installable QR.
When does the plan start?
When the eSIM first connects to Viettel inside Vietnam — not when the QR email arrives.
Can I use hotspot?
Yes. Share data with a laptop or another phone within the daily high-speed allowance.
Can I buy more than one plan at once?
Yes. Add multiple durations or quantities to the cart and checkout once. Each line gets its own QR by email.
Do I need eKYC?
No passport upload is required to activate data for these tourist eSIM plans.
What if my phone doesn’t support eSIM?
Use Check compatibility before buying. Contact support before installing if your device cannot use eSIM.
What coverage do I get?
You connect on Viettel’s local network across Vietnam — cities and popular travel routes including areas like Sapa and Ha Giang. Coverage follows Viettel’s live network; mountain or remote spots can be weaker than downtown.
What if I use up the 5GB daily high-speed data?
When the daily allowance is finished, the eSIM loses mobile data for the rest of that day — there is no slow unlimited fallback on this plan, and you cannot top up extra data on the same SIM right now. We are working on add-on options. The 5GB daily allowance resets every day at 23:59 Vietnam Standard Time (GMT+7). You can also buy another plan if you need more data sooner.
